Orrbizz ("we", "us", "our") operates the Orrbizz mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Orrbizz.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

We use Firebase Phone Authentication to verify your identity. When you sign up, we collect your mobile phone number solely to send a one-time verification code (OTP). Your phone number is stored securely and is never displayed to other users or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Profile Information

You provide your first name, date of birth, and gender. This information is used to create your profile and determine which other users you are shown based on preferences.

Photos

When you post an Orbit, you upload two photos: a selfie and a point-of-view photo of your surroundings. These are uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Cloudinary) and visible to nearby users. Photos are deleted when the Orbit expires or when you delete your account.

Location Data

We collect your GPS coordinates when you use the app to:

• Show your Orbit to users who are physically nearby
• Show you Orbits from people near your location

Precise GPS coordinates are not stored on our servers long-term. Your location is used in real-time and not retained after your session ends.

Orbit Activity

• Orbits: Your prompt, response, photos, and approximate location are stored to serve your Orbit to nearby users. Orbits expire after 24 hours.
• Replies: When you reply to another user's Orbit, we record the interaction to facilitate a potential connection. You can send up to 5 replies per day.
• Connections: When two users mutually reply to each other, a connection is created. Connection records are retained while both accounts are active.
• Chat messages: Messages in a connected chat are available for 1 hour. After the chat window closes, messages are permanently deleted from our servers.

Reports

If you report another user, we collect the report category, an optional description, and the relevant Orbit context. This is reviewed by our moderation team and retained until resolved.

Device & Technical Data

We collect standard technical data including your device type, app version, and push notification token (if you grant permission) to deliver notifications and maintain app functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and authenticate your account via phone OTP
• To show your Orbit to nearby users and show you their Orbits
• To facilitate replies, matches, and 1-hour chats
• To send push notifications about matches and replies
• To review user reports and enforce our community guidelines
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
• To improve the app and fix technical issues

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Other users: Your first name, age, Orbit photos, and prompt response are visible to nearby users. Your phone number is never shared.
• Service providers: We use Cloudinary for photo storage and Firebase for phone authentication. These providers process data only as needed.
• Legal obligations: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

• Chat messages: Auto-deleted 1 hour after the chat opens
• Orbits & photos: Deleted after 24 hours or when you delete your account
• Connection records: Retained while both accounts are active
• Profile information: Retained until you delete your account
• Reports: Retained until reviewed and resolved

5. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction: Update inaccurate information directly in the app
• Deletion: Delete your account from profile settings or by contacting us
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format

6. Security

We use HTTPS encryption in transit, JWT-based authentication, and access controls on our servers. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Orrbizz is intended for users aged 18 and over. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
